A day at The Homestead

Our weekly menu and monthly activities calendars are displayed at the front desk. At breakfast each morning, we announce the day's agenda. The Homestead provides a wide selection of activities. You can do all of them, or none! The choice is yours. We always have a jigsaw puzzle waiting to be pieced together.

Do you like to draw, paint, and craft? We offer classes for the artsy craft lovers. Make Holiday themed crafts, seasonal decorations for The Homestead, paint pictures, and more.

Movement keeps you going! Join the group for M.O.B. (Movement Of Body). Pick your chair and do some stretches, work on balance, march in place and get moving.

History hour is an informative and entertaining gathering. Learn world, state and local history plus the history of items invented.  Sometimes we learn about the simplest things. Did you know that the first widely produced sewing thimble was created in 1695 in England? Or that the first pair of shoes was invented between 7000-8000 BCE and were made of bark? Come and learn more!

Popcorn and a movie. Who can resist a good classic movie? Sometimes we watch Netflix series like The Crown. Grab a bowl of popcorn and a comfortable seat in the living room.

Every Tuesday afternoon and Saturday morning is Bingo! Grab as many cards as you like and get to winning!

Entertainment is popular here. Sing along with one of the many entertainers who join us with their guitar or take a seat at The Homestead piano. Sing along to show tunes, and the songs of yesteryears.

We love games! Cards, dice, trivia, hangman, and board games.

On Wednesdays a local Woodstock beautician comes to The Homestead and provides beauty parlor services. Wash and set, a trim or a perm, Wednesday is the day!

Friday is Book Club Day. We love to read at The Homestead. Meet once a week to discuss the current book that the Book Club is reading.

Friday Fun Day! Want to go to VINS? Shopping? Lunch?  Special trips, picnics, shopping and lunch happen on Friday!
